The Public Sector: Our Partner
in Growth and Development
The NDP is on the side of public sector
workers. We have made it clear that we
want to see a government that works
for the people and a key part of that is
ensuring all public sector workers are
empowered to do their job, and have the
necessary support to do so.
Many of our public sector workers work in difficult
and challenging conditions, we are going to invest
in ensuring government facilities are top class.
We need to get our country moving, that can only
happen with public sector workers providing the
services that are so important for our farmers,
fisherfolk, business and everyday people. We
cannot have a strong economy without our public
sector driving this forward.
We will:
Reverse the Vaccine Mandate ensuring that
all public servants have their jobs restored
with full benefits, so they can play their part
in our economic growth.
Pay a bonus to public servants to support
them.
Provide 50% import duty concessions to
public servants with at least 10 years of
service, to purchase a vehicle for personal
use.
Ensure all promotions are based on merit
so that all public servants have a clear and
transparent career pathway.
Invest in government buildings to improve
working conditions for public servants.
Public servants deserve to work in the best
conditions possible.
Continue to engage with the Public Sector
Unions, to deliver the best possible outcome
for public sector workers.
Consult with the Civil Service and related
trade unions in order to enhance the
regulatory framework of the public service to
provide for greater autonomy for managers
to do their work more effectively.
