An Education System
that Delivers
Young people must leave our education
system prepared for today’s work
environment and with a foundation for
a life of purpose and success.
Under an NDP government there will be upgraded
classrooms, qualified and motivated teachers, safe
buildings, modern resources, more scholarships,
and a focus on offering a holistic education
experience. We will deliver a system that supports
students, not one that allows them to fall through
the cracks.
We will:
Pay for CAPE and CSEC subject
examination fees.
Eliminate fees at the community college
and secondary schools to make education
more affordable.
Implement the Inclusive Education
Strategy.
Prioritise reading, writing, mathematics,
and the creative arts.
Review how Vincentian history is taught.
Teach children to be custodians of their
environment.
Introduce mandatory co-curricular
activities to ensure development in sport,
arts, leadership and community service.
Rebuild the Girls High School and fix the
Thomas Saunders School.
Offer remedial classes so no child is left
behind.
Ensure affordable school transportation
for students who must travel long
distances, including subsidising school
buses and ferry services where necessary.
Enhance high-speed internet service in all
schools to facilitate the increasing use of
online resources for teaching and research.
Ensure that agreed OECS standards are
applied in our education system.
Implement a mathematics intervention
plan including a full curriculum review to
ensure vertical alignment from primary to
secondary school.
Ensure technical and vocational skills
training is available in all secondary
schools.
Ensure coding, robotics and financial
literacy are core subjects in secondary
schools.
TOGETHER WE WIN!
